On Demand: Shape the Story, Shift the Outcome

Published on November 6, 2025
Shape the Story, Shift the OutcomeYou’ve heard the saying “mindset is everything,” right? We all have, but we don’t always stop to really think about it.  Jillian Mele spent almost 20 years on live television covering breaking news, sports, and international news.  She won two Emmy Awards for her work and even made it to the national anchor desk.  But something was missing.  When she took time to reflect on her life, she realized that she wasn’t necessarily happy and that she needed to shift a lot of things, mindset being one of them.  After years of inner turmoil deciding if she was brave enough to walk away from a career that people constantly praised, she did.  She pivoted in a big way and was forever changed thanks to a new perspective and small but mighty mindset shifts.  She decided that if she shaped the story herself, it would shift the outcome of her life both personally and professionally.

In this workshop, Jillian will share:
  • How we can empower ourselves to live our most confident life.
  • How being intentional with your mindset can lead to personal and professional success.
  • How storytelling can not only transform your life, but it can also shift how you build professional growth.

Bio:  Wanting to be the person who says “I took a risk and bet on myself,” Jillian Mele made one of the hardest decisions to be able to write her story exactly as she envisioned.  She wanted to look back at life and say she was brave enough to get out of her comfort zone and go for it. So, after nearly 20 years as a broadcast journalist covering both national news, local news, and sports, Jillian pivoted to start her own business.  But this wasn’t without a lot of reflection, nerves, stress, and fear. She covered the COVID-19 pandemic, Presidential Elections, the War in Ukraine, various hurricanes, the 2019 and 2022 World Series, the ups and downs of the post-pandemic economy, and more.  Having interviewed professional athletes, politicians, war heroes, economists, and business owners, and even skydived with the Army Golden Knights for an assignment, this was not something small to walk away from.  During her time in TV, Mele was awarded two Emmy Awards for her work.
