Alex shares her roots as a proud Southern girl, her path from dance major to event operations leader, and the pivotal moment that changed everything: choosing to stay for the full event instead of catching a flight home. What began as a reluctance to “work for her mom” evolved into a 13+ year career rooted in passion, precision, and purpose. 

Beyond her role at The Channel Company, Alex reveals a little-known side of her entrepreneurial spirit—running not one, but two thriving side businesses, including a balloon décor company and a fast-growing LED marquee rental business serving major brands, universities, and professional sports organizations. 

The conversation takes a heartfelt turn as Alex reflects on the influence of her mother—an entrepreneur, single parent, and role model who demonstrated that being a working parent and a present parent are not mutually exclusive. Her story is a powerful reminder that success can take many forms, and that both working parents and stay-at-home parents deserve respect for the invisible labor they carry. 

Alex closes by sharing a simple but powerful boundary that helps her protect work-life balance while working remotely: when the workday ends, the office door closes—making space to be fully present for her family, her home, and herself.
