Woman of the Week – Carrie Brown - Dell Technologies
In this week’s Woman of the Week conversation, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Carrie Brown, VP of Client Solutions Sales for North America at Dell Technologies—a leader whose career journey reflects the power of embracing change, taking thoughtful risks, and continuously learning along the way.
Raised in a military family and moving more than 30 times growing up, Carrie developed an early comfort with change that would later shape her professional path. Over her 23-year career at Dell, she has built a reputation for stepping into new opportunities—from inside sales to field leadership, relocating across the country, and even shifting from customer-facing sales into the channel. Each move expanded her perspective and helped her become what she describes as a true “Swiss army knife” leader—someone who can adapt, learn quickly, and drive impact across different areas of the business.
Carrie also shares two pivotal moments that shaped her career trajectory: taking a leap of faith early in her career by relocating to Las Vegas to become an account executive, and later stepping outside her comfort zone to lead within the channel business. Both decisions reinforced an important lesson—sometimes the opportunities that feel the most unfamiliar are the ones that unlock the greatest growth.
Throughout our conversation, Carrie’s passion for leadership shines through. She shares how successful leadership requires both clarity and culture—setting a clear vision, aligning priorities, and creating an environment where people feel empowered to use their strengths and collaborate to achieve shared goals.
From fishing trips in the great outdoors to leading high-performing sales organizations, Carrie brings authenticity, adaptability, and heart to everything she does. Her story is a powerful reminder that growth often comes from saying yes to the challenge before you feel fully ready.
